The inspiration for our “Leichtes Stück” meets us again and again in everyday life, for example in the form of half-timbered houses, tower cranes and bridge constructions.
The most impressive is the construction on the tower crane. A narrow crane tower with a ratio, over-sized long boom. Who wasn’t impressed as a child by the fact that the crane did not collapse or fall over? This construction is made possible, among other things, by a special arrangement of the struts.
Voltages in a seat-post:
In driving mode, a seat-post is primarily a bending load that generates tension and pressure stresses. The truss structure is excellently suited for this type of load and achieves the same stability with significantly lower weight. It has good clamping properties. In practice, the “light piece” convinces by a high self-damping during road and gravel use.
Our “Light Piece” is based on this kind of technique. The cut-outs according to this principle allow us to save a whopping 40 grams without losing stability. For this we even accept a 20-minute longer milling time on our 4-axis CNC machine.
The support is available in two lengths (340 mm and 420 mm) and in our well-known colors.
